Ekaterina cannot live without reading, and enjoys all kinds of books - picture books, novels, comic books, magazines... She listens to audio books too! She is good at selecting books for young readers, and thinking of fun activities children would love to do.
She likes biking, swimming, and cats! Still, one of her favorite books is about a rabbit, The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane by Kate Dicamillo.
Carley
Carley enjoys spending time with the community although she definitely has a soft spot for the MWCL's youngest patrons. Reading is a must for her as she appreciates the escape it provides; a little trip from reality! She enjoys ethnic cuisine, traveling and singing when nobody is listening.
Newt
Newt loves old books, museums and fairytales. He also really likes to make fun art things! His clothes end up being covered in glitter and paint but he doesn’t mind. Newt wants to learn lots of languages and is often browsing through the library’s bilingual books. In his free time he reads lots and lots of mysteries and detective stories.
Pam
Pam grew up in Montreal West and was a library member from the time she was born. When she was 5 years old she told the librarian that if she was ever sick to call her so that she could read the stories to the children instead. Now she gets to do that every week! When she is not reading the silliest picture books she can get her hands on you can probably find her whipping up experimental recipes in her kitchen or playing board games with her friends.
Alex
Alex may not be from Montreal-West, but she has fallen in love with the community already. She has read many books in her lifetime, and never leaves the house without one in her bag. She knows a lot of useless trivia so do not hesitate to ask! Alex can be found in the park on nice days during her breaks and won’t hesitate to join in on the fun! Sloth Fact: Sloths sleep up to 20 hours a day! And even when they are awake, they barely move at all. In fact, they're so incredibly sluggish, algae actually grows on their fur. (They are also Alex’s favorite animal.)
We Also Appreciate and Depend on our Volunteers!
Our wonderful volunteers are the heart and soul of the library! Their smiling faces greet everyone who enters, and their help is invaluable in getting the books off the shelves and into the hands of eager readers.
Our dedicated Bindery volunteers meet every Monday morning to cover our books and get them ready to be loaned out. This wonderful group also has amazing abilities when it comes to reviving damaged books!
